Lightsmith

Lightsmith (Support)

Nisha Ashraf is a light-bending architech (like symmetra), she and her people lived on the region where Utopaea was built and was forced to left her home by Vishkar Corporation, she uses her knowledge to instant build tools, armors and weapons to help her people, she is called for them as “Lightsmith”.
  • Health: 150
  • Armor: 0
  • Shield: 50
  • Weapon: Photon Forger

Light generator (Passive)

While Lightsmith is not attacking she is passively generating “light”, she can generate 10 lights per second and can have 200 lights maximum (needs 20 seconds to replenish).
Lightsmith can not reload like other heroes, she generates lights instead, it works pretty similar to Doomfist Hand Cannon.

Hunter Knife (Primary fire)

Lightsmith generates and throws a light knife, she is able to throw 2 knives per second, each knife deal 40 damage.
Throwing a Hunter knife consumes 10 lights, so 20 knives can be thrown in a row.

Knight spear (Secondary fire)

Lightsmith generates and throws a light spear, she is able to throw 1 spear per seconds and deal 80 damage.
Knight spear travels slower than Light knife and it is much bigger.
Throwing a Knight spear consume 20 lights, so 10 spears can be thrown in a row.

Squire Helmet (Shift)

Lightsmith builds a light helmet on an ally, the Helmet protect against headshots for 8 seconds.
Squire Helmet consumes 80 lights, so 2 helmets can be built in a row and protect 2 allies heads.
Squire Helmet lasts until is destroyed (80 health) or after 8 seconds, it works similar to a temporary shield but it protects the head only.

Thief Knives (E)

Lightsmith creates 8 light knives on an ally, these knives can be fired for the ally with his normal primary fire increasing his damage, the ally can throw 2 knives per second dealing 40 damage (additional to his/her normal attack).
Thief Knives lasts until they are depleted or the ally dies.
Thief Knives give Reinhardt and Brigitte a way to shoot distant enemies.
Giving Thief Knives consume 80 lights.

Terran Bunker (Q)

Lightsmith builds a 4 meters diameter and 2.5 meters high bunker, allies can go inside and see the outside, enemies can not enter or see inside but they can walk over it, allies and enemies can attack outside/inside using the bunker windows.
There is no way to destroy the bunker, it lasts 10 seconds.
Terran Bunker doesn’t need lights, but needs a 4x4 meters plain area to be emplaced, this make it very limited to build in some maps, there is only 2 spots to emplace it in Hanamura and 1 spot for the first point in Eichenwalde and Hollywood and there is no way to emplace it on Ilios/Well and Black Forest due to small corridors, inclined terrain, holes or obstructions (including payload).

Cormac

Cormac (Support/Healer)

Cormac is neutral in the omnic crisis, he believes in the balance as an absolute truth that must be protected, Cormac looks for the balance even in the battlefield, and their skills are made thinking on that purpose.
  • Health: 200
  • Armor: 0
  • Shield: 0
  • Weapon: Justice Injector
  • Difficulty: ★★★★ (it is really hard and stressful)

Balance Board (Passive)

Cormac has a 4 columns interface every column shows a counter:

  • Health (Yellow): The first counter increases when Cormac heal himself using Interior light and decreases when is hitted by any enemy (it doesn’t matter how much damage or how many hits).
  • Heal (Orange): The second counter increases when Cormac heal an ally using Healing light and decreases after 30 seconds.
  • Offense (Red): The third counter increases when Cormac hits an enemy using Suffering light and decreases after 30 seconds.
  • Time (Purple): The fourth counter increases every minute and goes back to 1 when Ultimate is used.
Counters give a score as shown in the following table:
And the 4 counters summed give a total score.
Minimum count for any bar is 1 and maximum is 5 the highest score for every counter is at 3 points where score is 40.
At the beginning, all the counters have 1 point, so the total score is 40.
If Cormac is damaged he should lose 1 Health point but as he is on the minimum value he keeps on 1, if he heals himself twice he gets +2 points (total: 3).
If Cormac heals 3 allies he will get +3 Heal points (Total: 4)
If Cormac use his skill against 1 enemies he will get +1 Offense points and after 30 seconds with no use his skill he lose -1 Offense point (Total: 1)
After 2 minutes Cormac gets 2 Time points (Total: 3)
Total Score is 40+25+10+40 = 115
If all the counters have 3 points (perfect score) it gets 40 extra points
Total Score is 40+40+40+40 (+extra 40) = 200
A blue aura appears over Cormac when he gets the perfect score (red aura for enemies).

Healing light (Primary fire)

Cormac emits a long range healing light, the target ally gets a heal equal to Balance board total score per second.
Using Healing light gives +1 heal point.

Suffering light (Secondary fire)

Cormac emits a long range damage light, the target enemy gets a damage equal to Balance board total score per second.
Using Suffering light gives +1 offense point.

Interior light (Shift)

Cormac heals himself, he gets a heal equal to Balance board total score.
Using Interior light gives +1 health point.

Load balancing (E)

Cormac emits a light to every nearby and visible ally make them connected, all the damage incoming for any connected ally will be divided among all the connected group.
The total damage is the same, for example, if Cormac connect Roadhog and D.Va, and D.Va is attacked by a 90 damage attack, she receives 30 only, but Roadhog and Cormac receive 30 damage too, then (30 + 30 + 30 = 90)

Justice light (Q)

Cormac emits a long range light to all directions for 3 seconds, all the allies/enemies in range gets a heal/damage equal to the balance board total score per second.
Using Justice light resets time counter to 1.

Overwatch Concepts from Reddit

Overwatch Concepts from Reddit
I was checking hero concepts in Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/OverwatchHeroConcepts/) and I was very impressed about them, really good ideas and concepts, I selected 3 I found amazing!

Tinker (Support/Healer/Builder) by VeryC0mm0nName
I don't know if is allowed to have a character with 2 sub-roles, but Tinker is a good and creative idea, I have seen many healing structures building concepts on the web, but nothing like Tinker (Hannah Jensen), her main skill is a structure called "Biowave Generator"

Biowave Generator (E)

Tinker builds an upgradeable structure with 3 levels, it heals 5, 10 and 20 in each level respectively.

Short arm of the law (Primary fire)

Tinker primary weapon is a grenade launcher, it explode on contact (not like Junkrat)

Commissioner Burns (Secondary fire)

Tinker uses a hand blowtorch to upgrade her buildings and can be used to damage enemies.

Weeper grenade (Shift)

Hannah launches a renade that releases a cloud of gas, it reduces enemies speed and defense.

Law and Order (Q)

Hannah launches two drones, Law support allies giving them heals and shield, and Order launches missiles to enemies causing damage and reducing speed.

Persephone (Defense) by CheshireMadness
This is a very interesting concept, Persephone (Penelope Alexandris) main skill are plant seeds who live inside the enemies and can grow using their death bodies.

Pea Shooter (Primary fire)

Persephone attacks with seeds causing damage and seeds remains on the enemy reducing speed.

Entropy Bloom (passive)

If an enemy dies having any seed, he spawns a bulb

Carnivore (Shift)

A selected bulb blooms into a plant who attacks enemies

Sudden Thorn (E)

All the seeds in enemies sprouts into thorns causing damage

Entangling Growth (Q)

Persephone immobilizes enemies inside a radius and reduce speed of incoming enemies, bulbs inside radius blooms into carnivore.

Lockdown (Defense) by Magmas
There are many hero concepts on internet fighting with a pet ally (like drones, familiars or animals), and Lockdown (Camille Lavoie) is the best for many reasons, he is not overpowered and the way he act is very sporty for a competitive game like Overwatch.

Rex (Passive)

Rex is an omnic dog who helps Lockdown, he wanders next to her and attack nearby enemies.

The Enforcer (Primary fire)

A custom pump action shotgun that packs a real punch.

Order Command (Secondary fire)

Lockdown select a target, Rex will go to this target and attack or defend it.

Return (Shift)

Rex stops what he is doing and goes back to Lockdown to be repaired.

Laser trap (E)

Lockdown places a trap on the wall which emits an invisible laser, enemies who cross the trap are damaged and revealed.

Leash (Q)

Rex attaches electrical ‘leashes’ to nearby enemies, dammaging, stunning and reducing speed to attached enemies.

Phoenix

Phoenix (Support)

My original idea was making a phoenix “girl”, but I think there is too many support girls and I didn’t want to make a character similar to the X-men phoenix, then I watched this image from the original concept of Overwatch, I think this art concept could be used for phoenix removing all the original skills and his wings.

Phoenix is a support and the second character able to revive allies in a less efficient way as mercy does but more tactical.

Health: 250

Armor: 0
Shield: 0
Weapon: Flamethrower

Burn (Condition)

Phoenix is able to make enemies burn, when a player is burning he lose his life slowly, the burn is a persistent and constant damage which make 200 damage in 20 seconds (10 per second), enough time to go get a medical kit.

Flame Thrower (Primary fire)

Phoenix launches a short range fire attack which deal damage and causes burn. This is pretty similar to Mei Freeze Spray.

Firewall (Secondary fire)

Phoenix launches an oil short line on the ground (drawn with mouse left click), and then turns in fire making a firewall, this is tall enough to avoid heroes jump above it, enemies can walk across the firewall receiving burn.
This skill is useful to stop enemies in a small corridor or as defensive skill, but is not useful to stop tanks or other enemies with higher health.

Regen (Shift)

Phoenix launches a capsule to an ally and fully recovers his health, this skill is specially useful to heal tanks quickly, but it has a long cooldown of 15 seconds, so is not good idea to use it on low damaged heroes.

Revive (E)

Phoenix launches a capsule to an ally giving him 2 semi transparent wings for 20 seconds visible for allies only, if this ally dies before wings disappear, he will revive after 5 seconds in a thin fire tower causing burn to enemies over it and making the ally invencible for 1 second.
Revive has a 20 seconds cooldown, the same time as the skill lifetime.
I think is a good idea to give the option to cancel revive if the player doesn’t want to, this could save some D.vas from reviving in a place surrounded by enemies.

Reborn (Q)

Phoenix gives himself a revive capsule, giving him 2 semi transparent wings for 60 seconds visible for allies only, if Phoenix dies before wings disappear, he will revive after 5 seconds in a large fire tower causing burn to enemies over it and making him invencible for 1 second.
I think is a good idea to give the option to cancel reborn if the player doesn’t want to.

Mei against Phoenix

Mei has a little advantage against Phoenix, she is able to extinguish an ally burn and remove phoenix Firewall using her Freeze Spray.
On the other hand,Phoenix is able to defrost a frozen ally and destroy Ice wall instantly using his Flame Thrower.
