Phantia

Phantia (Defense)

Phantia was a ghostly woman from Talon who uses similar techs than Reaper, maybe also Moira is related to her, but Phantia didn’t like Talon ideals and she left the terrorist organization and joined Overwatch.
Phantia is a rude, aggressive and sadistic girl, she doesn’t show empathy for her enemies pain, just like Reaper or Widowmaker.
While Phantia was in Talon she used a dark style similar to Reaper, On Overwatch Phantia changed her style to a white ghostly style.

Health: 200
Armor: 0
Shield: 0
Weapon: Screamer Crossbow

Ghost moves (Passive)

Phantia doesn’t touch the floor when she moves, she floats 20 cm (almost 8 inches) above the ground.
Walking, Jumping, falling down and other moves works normally, so this “skill” doesn’t give any advantage to Phantia, it is aesthetic feature only.
Ghost moves are not silent steps, when Phantia moves she makes a “windy” sound easy to recognize for enemies.


Screamer Crossbow (Primary fire)

Phantia uses a Crossbow which can load 2 arrows, she can shoot 2 arrows per second and takes 1.2 seconds to reload them, an arrow deals 24 damage.
After 10 meters, the arrow fragments in 4 minor arrows, each minor arrow deals 24 damage too, so, if all the arrows hits the same enemy he receives 112 damage, this makes Phantia works better from a long distance.
If an arrow (or minor arrow) miss an enemy and hit the floor,  wall or any obstacle, it creates a little white flame which lasts for 3 seconds, if an enemy touches a flame it gets 20 damage.

Double Arrow (Secondary fire)

Phantia can throw both arrows simultaneously pressing the secondary fire, it takes 1 second (double than throwing a single arrow).
If both arrows hit an enemy, they do 56 damage, if both arrows fragments and hit an enemy they do 224 damage (28 x 2 x 4), this is really hard, because 2 fragmented arrows travel very far apart.

Transformation (E)

A 4 pane cake menu appear on screen to select 4 animals, selecting an animal causes Phantia to become that animal, this menu is similar to the communication menu.

Cat Transformation

Phantia becomes a white cat, while in cat shape, she is small and can jump higher helping her to reach high surfaces.

Rat Transformation

Phantia becomes a white rat, while in rat shape, she is smaller and her speed is increased helping her to move faster but is unable to jump.

Owl Transformation

Phantia becomes a white owl, while in owl shape, she is small and can fly helping her to reach higher surfaces but her speed is decreased.

Frog Transformation

Phantia becomes a white frog, while in frog shape, she is smaller and can not move, this transformation is not useful at all.
While in Transformation, Phantia can not attack or use any skill, her steps are silent, her whole body is reduced and if she is hit all the damage will be like a headshot, transform lasts 10 seconds and Phantia can cancel it pressing E again.

Traspase (Shift)

Phantia go through a thin wall in front of her, this skill fails if there are no walkable surface on the other side or wall is too wide.
Traspase can be used twice, so Phantia can go back to an unexpected situation.

Polymorph (Q)

All the enemies in 40 m radius turns into a ram for 4 seconds, this ability can go through walls.
while in ram form, an user can run and jump as usual, pressing V (melee attack) can hit an enemy using its horns, his life/armor/shield are the same, previously used skills can continue working (like buildings, hacks, Crossfade/Amp it up, etc), but can not perform new skills or use his weapons.
Polymorph forces the enemies to run away and hide, making it an useful tool to clean an area, but an expert ram could kill Phantia using its horns, if Phantia dies, the effect ends.

Pup-Petra

Pup-Petra (Defense)

Pup-petra is a duo commanded by Petra (also called Puppeteer) and Pup, the loyal omnic (also called Puppet or Puppy by Petra).
Petra works and live in a spaceship called Argo where she can see the world and control Pup, so, she is not really on the battlefield, she is never seen in the battle, but she can be heard for the allies when she talks, Petra is also in charge of delivering D.Va’s Mech.
Pup is commanded by Petra, he is a bestial omnic and Petra’s eyes, he does everything what Petra says and Petra loves him for that.
Pup and Petra have many dialogues in their voice lines.
(The name Argo comes from Argus ship from greek mythology).
(Puppetry was originated in Ancient Greece).

C6K Assault Rifle (Primary fire)

Pup’s riffle is a high damage (100) and long range weapon, but it is slow (1 shot per second and 2 seconds reload).

Pro-meteor (Secondary fire)

Petra commands an energy ray over the point indicated by Pup, this makes a vertical attack, the energy ray takes 1 second to produce damage, giving the enemies some time to escape, it makes 80 damage and has 4 seconds cooldown.
Enemies have some indicators to know Pro-meteor has been triggered, a red ring appear on the ground (similar to Doomfist Meteor Strike), a red light is projected vertically over the area and a “lightning” sound can be heard by nearby enemies.
Sombra can hack Pup to avoid the Pro-meteor call, but once it’s triggered it can not be canceled/interrupted, this is because Sombra can hack Pup, but she can not hack Petra.
This skill is useful to avoid barriers, D.va and Reinhardt should move their shield up to stop it.
(The name Pro-meteor comes from “Prometheus” from greek mythology).

Dis-arm (Shift)

Pup transfer his memory and control to a new body on the spawn room, the old body remaining is disabled (like a death body).
This skill let Pup suicide to avoid the respawning time, but when Pup uses Dis-arm, he gets a new body, so his ultimate is reseted.
Petra says “Abort the mission, A new body is being delivered”.

Petra-fi (E)

Petra commands a petrifying ray over an enemy selected, when the enemy is hitted by Petra-fi he can’t move or get damage for 5 seconds, it’s like a stone or Mei’s Cryo-Freeze it has a 15 seconds cooldown.
Enemies have some indicators to know Petra-fi has been triggered, a gray ring appear on the ground, a gray light is projected on the area and a “rattle” sound is heard by nearby enemies.
Sombra can hack Pup to avoid the Petra-fi call, but once it’s triggered it can not be canceled/interrupted, this is because Sombra can hack Pup, but she can not hack Petra.
Petra Says “Receive Medusa's Gaze!

Hyper-ion (Q)

Petra commands a power light over Pup lifting him up (3 meters above the ground), giving him a temporary shield (100) and causing damage to nearby enemies.
Pup can move when Hyper-ion is enabled and the power light will follow him causing damage to nearby enemies.
It moves similar to Zenyatta Transcendence.
Pup animations looks like he's being dragged as a marionette, it seems like Pup is not controlling himself, and Petra is dragging him.
While Hyper-ion is enabled Pro-meteor, Dis-arm and Petra-fi can not be used.
(The name Hyper-ion comes from “Hyperion” from greek mythology).

Overwatch Concepts from Reddit
I was checking hero concepts in Reddit (https://www.reddit.com/r/OverwatchHeroConcepts/) and I was very impressed about them, really good ideas and concepts, I selected 3 I found amazing!

Tinker (Support/Healer/Builder) by VeryC0mm0nName
I don't know if is allowed to have a character with 2 sub-roles, but Tinker is a good and creative idea, I have seen many healing structures building concepts on the web, but nothing like Tinker (Hannah Jensen), her main skill is a structure called "Biowave Generator"

Biowave Generator (E)

Tinker builds an upgradeable structure with 3 levels, it heals 5, 10 and 20 in each level respectively.

Short arm of the law (Primary fire)

Tinker primary weapon is a grenade launcher, it explode on contact (not like Junkrat)

Commissioner Burns (Secondary fire)

Tinker uses a hand blowtorch to upgrade her buildings and can be used to damage enemies.

Weeper grenade (Shift)

Hannah launches a renade that releases a cloud of gas, it reduces enemies speed and defense.

Law and Order (Q)

Hannah launches two drones, Law support allies giving them heals and shield, and Order launches missiles to enemies causing damage and reducing speed.

Persephone (Defense) by CheshireMadness
This is a very interesting concept, Persephone (Penelope Alexandris) main skill are plant seeds who live inside the enemies and can grow using their death bodies.

Pea Shooter (Primary fire)

Persephone attacks with seeds causing damage and seeds remains on the enemy reducing speed.

Entropy Bloom (passive)

If an enemy dies having any seed, he spawns a bulb

Carnivore (Shift)

A selected bulb blooms into a plant who attacks enemies

Sudden Thorn (E)

All the seeds in enemies sprouts into thorns causing damage

Entangling Growth (Q)

Persephone immobilizes enemies inside a radius and reduce speed of incoming enemies, bulbs inside radius blooms into carnivore.

Lockdown (Defense) by Magmas
There are many hero concepts on internet fighting with a pet ally (like drones, familiars or animals), and Lockdown (Camille Lavoie) is the best for many reasons, he is not overpowered and the way he act is very sporty for a competitive game like Overwatch.

Rex (Passive)

Rex is an omnic dog who helps Lockdown, he wanders next to her and attack nearby enemies.

The Enforcer (Primary fire)

A custom pump action shotgun that packs a real punch.

Order Command (Secondary fire)

Lockdown select a target, Rex will go to this target and attack or defend it.

Return (Shift)

Rex stops what he is doing and goes back to Lockdown to be repaired.

Laser trap (E)

Lockdown places a trap on the wall which emits an invisible laser, enemies who cross the trap are damaged and revealed.

Leash (Q)

Rex attaches electrical ‘leashes’ to nearby enemies, dammaging, stunning and reducing speed to attached enemies.

Sarah

Sarah (Defense)

I would like to think on Sarah as a scientist who works in a lab using illegal biological weapons or nano machines for Talon or Volskaya, but I think Overwatch has already too many female scientists… so, maybe this concept should change.
Health: 200 Armor: 0 Shield: 0 Weapon: Sarah’s Gun

Virus Dart (Secondary fire scoped hitscan)

Sarah throws a dart infecting an enemy with a silent Virus, it has a really long cooldown of 60 seconds, but it is really effective.
When an enemy is infected by Virus Dart, he will not be notified in any way, he doesn’t get any damage.
Virus is contagious, an infected enemy can infect his nearby allies, which can infect again and again making all the allies infected, while less health easier to infect, heroes with much health (like tanks) are harder to infect.
When a hero is infected by his ally it will get an screen message like “John infected you”, this will be the primary way to detect the Virus.
Mercy is an easy infectible hero and a big spread source, because she fights close to her allies.
The only way to stop Virus is when the hero dies.

Sarah’s Gun (Primary fire hitscan)

This is long range dart gun, it is pretty small and quiet, a dart makes low damage but there is 3 extra damages every 0.5 seconds (just like a small poison).
Sarah’s gun darts can follow infected enemies until rotate 45º, even reaching not visible angles, Sarah’s gun darts also deal more damage to infected enemies.

Virus Scanner (Passive)

Sarah has a Virus Scanner, she can see infected enemies in a special color (maybe green) and through walls, she can always see their health bar, helping her to detect how many enemies are infected, where they are and how weak they are, this is very important to use her Ultimate Virus Purge.

Virus Mutate (E)

This skill works on infected enemy only.
Sarah makes a selected infested enemy deals 25% damage of his maximum health, this means a bigger enemy gets more damage, there is no need to aim to select an infected enemy.
Examples:
  • If Soldier: 76 (max health: 200) has 200 health remaining and Virus Mutate is used: he gets 50 damage, 150 health remains (200-50=150).
  • If Roadhog (max health: 600) has 500 health remaining an Virus Mutate is used: he gets 150 damage, 350 health remains (500-150=350).
  • If Mei (max health: 250) has 50 health remaining and Virus Mutate is used: she gets 62 damage, killing her (50-62=0).
Tanks are the most affected heroes, and the hardest to infect.

Virus Purge (Q)

Sara’s makes a wide area mutate pulse affecting to all the infected enemies, deals 50% damage of his maximum health, this means a bigger enemy gets more damage, Virus purge can go through walls.

Examples:
  • If Soldier: 76 (max health: 200) has 200 health remaining and Virus Mutate is used: he gets 100 damage, 100 health remains (200-100=100).
  • If Roadhog (max health: 600) has 500 health remaining an Virus Mutate is used: he gets 300 damage, 200 health remains (500-300=200).
  • If Mei (max health: 250) has 100 health remaining and Virus Mutate is used: she gets 125 damage, killing her (100-125=0).
In other words, all the infected enemies who have half or less health will die.

Virus Purge has no effect if there are no infected enemies!

Maximilian

Maximilian (Defense)

I thought about this character as a Nepal omnic, similar to Zenyatta, but using mental skills, then I watched this dark omnic on Talon Council, this concept could be used for this character.


As Zenyatta, Maximilian has low health and high shield, he is easy to kill, but he can attack safe from a hidden place
Health: 100 Armor: 0 Shield: 100 Weapon: Psychical Gloves

Pulse (Passive)

Maximilian emits a periodic psychic pulse every 0.5 seconds making a small damage to near enemies, this skill is useful to protect him when he uses his Projection and Control skills.

Laser (Primary fire hitscan)

Maximilian uses a long range constant psychic laser to make a weak but persistent damage per second, it looks like a blue line emitted by his finger which makes it easy to find for enemies.

Disruptor (Secondary fire)

Maximilian secondary weapon is a short range but wide area (90 degrees) continued blue psychic fire emitted by his 2 hands, this attack keeps enemies away, avoiding attacks from short range enemies like Reinhardt Rocket Hammer, this skill is useful to protect him after he uses the Projection and the Control skills.

Elevation (Shift)

Maximilian floats vertically while Shift key is pressed, and stops when they key is released, this skill is to help Maximilian to reach higher places to hide and use the Projection and Control skills safer.

Projection (E)

Maximilian makes a ghostly projection of himself from a long distance, so, enemies can not detect where it comes, The player controls the projection and Maximilian stop moving, being protected by his pulse passive skill only.
The projection can use all the skills except the projection itself, this means he can use the Laser, Disruptor, float and even his Ultimate Control, his health is 5 and his shield is 95 (Total: 100).
The projection stops and the player backs to control Maximilian when one of the followings conditions occurs:
  • If the player cancels the projection pressing E.
  • If the projection is killed.
  • If the projection lifetime ends, The projection has a 20 seconds lifetime.
  • If Maximilian is hitted
When player is controlling the projection and the Pulse affects someone the player could see a message in the screen, something like: “Enemy detected by pulse”, then the player could press E to cancel the projection.
This skill should have a low cooldown, 20 seconds is ok, to let him call a projection again and again, this skill is why Maximilian is a “Defense” hero.

Control (Q)

Maximilian uses a mind control on a nearby enemy, When control is used, The player controls the enemy and all his/her skills, Maximilian stop moving while is controlling, being protected by his pulse passive skill only.
The enemy player can see what his hero does, but will not be able to control his character.
The control stops and the player backs to control Maximilian when one of the followings conditions occurs:
  • If the player cancels the projection pressing Q.
  • If the controlled enemy is killed.
  • If the control lifetime ends, The control has a 10 seconds lifetime.
  • If Maximilian is hitted.
